Independent Swim Conference powerhouse John Glenn is at it again this season. Second-year head coach Robert LaRocque has his team primed to take yet another ISC championship, heading into the league championship meet with an unblemished 7-0 conference record. A first place finish there will give the Bobcats their 10th straight conference title.

“Every year is a new season and a new group of guys on the team,” LaRocque said. “Our success continues due to the leadership of our upperclassmen and the hard work, dedication, determination of all of our swimmers. We put in a lot of time at practice both before and after school and at our meets throughout the season.”

This season hasn’t been much different from years past.  John Glenn has already qualified two relay teams and seven individuals for the state finals meet at Oakland University March 9 and 10. The Bobcats also broke eight pool records at Gaylord High School at a meet earlier this season.

“This season has been great so far,” LaRocque said. “Our new swimmers on the team learned what it means to be a Bobcat, and they have stepped up to the challenge as they continue our swimming and diving traditions. I am impressed by how much heart our guys give to the sport and look forward to them achieving their personal bests as we wrap up another season. I am looking forward to our continued success at the ISC Championships and the state finals.”
