My Take: A defending state champion, Cooper is the favorite to claim the 112-pound title this season. Cooper’s road to the title will not be an easy one, with Luke Jensen of Allendale and Cody Hall of Caro as prime contenders.

1. Todd Melick, Lake Fenton

3. Dustin Noreyko, Roscommon

My Take: The 119-pound weight class is deep and full of talented wrestlers. Melick has come close three times, while Ireland won a state title as a sophomore. Melick gets one this time.

My Take: A defending state champion, Nick Ross of Comstock Park has enjoyed a banner senior season and is positioned to claim another state title.

3. Lake Bennett, Birch Run

My Take: Lopez and Rojem look to be the frontrunners at 130. Give the nod to the senior Lopez.

Class 135
1. Zehlin Storr, Leslie
2. Devin Skatzka, Richmond
3. Jordan Bennett, Lakewood
4. Leontay White, Swan Valley
5. Jared Fekete, Benzie Central

My Take: Storr comes in as the favorite after defeating Skatzka in the regional, but don’t count out Bennett of Lakewood who has turned in a perfect freshman season so far.

Pick the winner: Zehlin Storr, Leslie

Class 140

2. Garrett Edwards, Richmond

4. Johnny Finney, Bullock Creek

My Take: At 44-0, Wiggers has been perfect this season, and he turned in a dominant performance at the regional.

3. Dalton Moulton, Napoleon
4. Justin Tomasek, Hemlock

My Take: Grantham may not want to see Napoleon’s Moulton anytime soon after needing overtime to earn the regional title. McCarthy will also be in the mix.

My Take: A wide-open weight class, Betham, Slavik, and Mallott are the top contenders with the Dundee duo close behind.

My Take: A defending state champion who has dominated this season, Weatherspoon makes it two state titles in a row.

My Take: Livingston, Francisco, and Sika battled it out for the regional title. Look for Livingston to come out with the upper hand this time around.

My Take: Fouchey handed Malloy his first loss of the season in the regional final and will be tough to beat. Don’t count out Beebe.

My Take: A two-time state placer who took second last season, Hutchison is locked in and will be tough to deny this time.

My Take: Marogen edged Churchfield 3-2 in the regional title match. Can Churchfield turn the tables this time?
