Keegan Rohdy made the most of his opportunities in his first year as a Farwell running back.

He had a strong season for the Eagles, including 153 yards rushing in the eighth game of the season against Harrison.

We started out the season a little slow, but the last few weeks we’ve done great,” Rohdy said late in the season. “We’ve been playing all four quarters”

Farwell had 420 yards rushing against Harrison, Rohdy noted.

In his first eight games, Rohdy had 756 yards rushing and eight touchdowns on 71 carries.  He averaged 10.674 per carry. Being able to outrun people, Rodhy said, has been a strength.

A couple of teams have focused on me, but I’ve been able to manage well,” said Rohdy. “If they shut me down, our other back Austin Laverty is a threat, plus there’s Cody Bauer.”

Another strong game was against Houghton Lake. Bauer had 141 yards rushing compared to 78 for Rodhy in pulling out a Farwell win.

They were undefeated in the conference at the time,” Rohdy said. “We were able to show them up for the win.”

The Eagles ended up the season with a record of 4-5.

Farwell was 6-3 during the regular season last year and qualified for the playoffs.  Coach Scott Barnhart admitted that it was disappointing not to make the playoffs this year. The team started out 2-4.

We wish we would have gotten out to a better start,” Barnhart said. “Our kids started out slow.”
