The Chesaning boys cross country team continues to gain momentum as they head toward the all-important regional meet.
At the league meet, Chesaning took third place out of 19 Tri-Valley Conference teams with a combined score of 111. The Indians were just one point behind Shepherd, who had a team score of 110, and were just a few seconds short of the tie-breaker with Hemlock, who also had a team score of 111.
Leading the way for the tribe was Rob Kovach, who placed fourth with a time of 16:38.2.  He was followed by John Forsyth in fifth place with a time of 16:42.9.  Brandon Beckman came in 11th at 16:51.4, Jacob Collins was 43rd at 17:50, and Ian Turnwald was 48th at 17:55.
The Chesaning girls finished 13th out of 20 teams with a combined score of 331.
Leading the way was Kaitlyn Eurich with a time of 20:58, followed by Heather Shepherd 21:42, Amber Howlett 22:59, Kayla Richmond 23:34, Kelsey Luha 25:32, and Mary Stasa 28:13.
The Chesaning teams continued their strong running at the Saginaw County meet, where the boys finished in fourth place with 105 points. Senior John Forsyth led the way, as he finished sixth overall with a time of 16:44.8. Senior Brandon Beckman was 12th overall in a time of 17:08.8, followed by sophomore Jacob Collins (26th, 17:59.8), junior Ian Turnwald (28th, 18:10.2), and freshman Sam Zoellner (36th, 18:31.7).
The girls placed fifth at the county meet with 146 points. Junior Kaitlyn Eurich led the way, as she placed eighth in a time of 21:11, followed by senior Heather Shephard (12th, 21:50.6), junior Amber Hewlett (23rd, 22:34.2) and sophomore Kayla Richmond (34th, 23:12.9).
