Joe Main has been Lakeview’s main guy this football season.
A highlight for the Wildcats was a tough game against Morley Stanwood, which the Wildcats ended up winning by a score of 49-27.
“I think we played competitive football,” Main said. “We hung with them for the first half and played four good quarters of football.”
Main was a lineman last season. “Last year, I was one of the biggest guys and we needed more size on the line,” he said. “This year, we have more guys to put on the line. I like fullback.”
He’s had as many as 29 carries in a game this season.
“I ran the ball a little bit my freshman year,” he said. “The more carries I run, the better I get.”
Main also plays linebacker on defense.
“I’ve been making my reads, and I’ve been getting to the ball carrier,” Main said.
Lakeview entered the final week of the season with a record of 3-5.
“We’re a better team,” Main said. “We have better attitudes.”
Beating Hesperia 15-14 was a major season highlight, Main noted.
He’s also on the wrestling team.
