The Okemos boy’s cross country team is heading to the Division 1 state finals this Saturday at Michigan International Speedway after capturing the Division 1 regional in Portage.
Okemos totaled 56 points to take first place followed by Caledonia with 86 points and East Kentwood in third place with 91.
Okemos was led to the win by it’s trio of sophomore standouts. Daniel Kroth led the way as he finished fourth with a time of 16:41, Daniel Bartkowski placed seventh in 16:45 and David McKinley took ninth place with 16:50. Senior Beruk Scarlett placed 17th in a time of 17:09 while senior Seph Dabrowski placed 19th in 17:15.
