The Grand Ledge girl’s cross country team not only earned a trip to the Division 1 state cross finals this Saturday at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn but they captured the regional title in the process at the Division 1 regional at Portage Central.
The Grand Ledge girls totaled 50 points while Caledonia placed second with 60 and East Kentwood was third with 76.
The Comets dominated the race as they had the top two individual finishers. Junior Christy Snelgrove won the race in a time of 19:24 while fellow junior Allison Dible placed second in 19:24.
Freshman Taryn Hubaker placed fifth in 19:39 followed by sophomore Krista Magness (12th, 20:20), sophomore Danielle Seagrove (30th, 21:00), Olivia Conway (34th, 21:11) and Jessica O’Brien (58th, 22:12).
