Led by standout senior Taylor Manett, the Rockford girl’s cross country team will be heading back to the state finals.
Manett, who won the individual championship in a time of 17:29.7, led the Rams to a second-place finish and a berth in this Saturday’s Division 1 state finals at Michigan International Speedway.
The regional was extremely close with Hudsonville winning with 57 points, Rockford taking second with 59 points and Grand Haven third with 60 points.
Fellow senior Jane Hawks joined Manett in the top ten as she placed seventh in a time of 18:48.4. Sophomore Morgan Harney placed 16th in a time of 19:34.4 followed by freshman Kerianne Schoff (17th, 19:37.1), freshman Natalie Napolillo (18th, 19:39), sophomore Lauren Brasure (32nd, 20:17) and freshman Maegan Roach (37th, 20:36.1).
