The Corunna girls swimming and diving team is off to a strong start this season.
The Cavaliers opened the season with three consecutive victories, including a victory over Lansing Legacy, a co-op team made up of athletes from Lansing Sexton, Lansing Eastern, and Lansing Everett.
Abby Slocum led the way for the Cavaliers in the match against Lansing Legacy, winning four matches. Individually, Slocum captured the 50-yard freestyle in 28.23 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in1:04.34. She was also a member of a pair of winning relay teams, teaming with Sam Reeves, Morgan Feldpausch, and Taylor Ehl to win the 200 medley relay in 2:20.17 and with Jillian Belous, Reeves, and Feldpausch to win the 200 free relay.
Ehl has also been a big point scorer for the Cavaliers this season. In the match with Lansing Legacy, Ehl won both the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. The Cavaliers have also been receiving points in diving from Taylor Malatinsky.
