After suffering through a winless season last fall, the Everett Vikings have turned the corner this season thanks to a talented group of young players.
After opening the season with a win against Waverly, the Vikings added their second win of the season when they defeated Eastern 21-12 in week five.
Leading the charge for the Vikings has been junior linebacker James Mills. Everett’s leading tackler last year as a sophomore, Mills is turning in another solid season. He is again anchoring the Viking defense, and in the win against Eastern he totaled 13 tackles. He also pitched in on offense, as he led the team in rushing and added a touchdown run and caught a touchdown pass from Lucas Barner.
Barner has been giving the Vikings strong play at quarterback this season. He tossed a pair of touchdown passes against Eastern.
