Cedar Springs will take on Flint Northwestern this week after coming off a victory over the Forest Hills Eastern Hawks last week 28-14.
Scores for Cedar Springs included a 68-yard run by Austin Wamser and 39-yard scampered by Hank Porter.
“Thursday’s game was a big win for us,” said Cedar Springs coach Brian Busen. “Our defense played great and held FHE to 48 yards rushing. The offense got off to a slow start but was sparked by a great touchdown by Austin Wamser at the end of the first half,
“Hank Porter came up huge with three carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns and also had one 10-yard TD catch along with an interception. Most teams make their biggest improvement from week one to week two. We did just that.”
Busen expects quite a test this week.
“Flint Northwestern has one receiver who has committed to WMU and another that is equally talented but not committed at this time. Flint has more speed than we will see all year and is maybe the most athletic team we face,” Busen said. “This game will be a great challenge to our DBs.”
