Two Division I athletes proved too tough to handle for Haslett in Friday’s 35-10 season-opening loss to East Lansing.
Elijah Wray-Hamilton gained 137 yards on the ground and two touchdowns while Alex Carlson was 8-of-19 in passing for 98 yards and a TD.
“East Lansing did a great job at the offensive line,” said Haslett coach Charlie Otlewski. “They controlled the line of scrimmage and rushed the ball very well and made it difficult for us to control the tempo and pace of the game.”
Haslett’s senior fullback Kolby Casady ran for 92 yards and his team’s only touchdowns. Senior linebacker Matt Lammers collected eight tackles.
“We were able to do some good things on offense,” Otlewski said. “We moved the ball pretty well I thought.”
Quarterback Adam Foren “did a good job running our offense,” Otlewski said.
