It was CAAC Blue power at the Division 2 girl’s golf regional at Stonehedge North Golf Course in Augusta Thursday afternoon as CAAC Blue powerhouses Okemos and East Lansing both qualified for the Division 2 state finals next weekend at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.

Okemos and Battle Creek Lakeview tied for the regional title with 340 while East Lansing took third place with a 350.

Among other area teams Mason was eighth with a 408, Waverly 10th with 421 and St. Johns 12th with 455.

Junion standout Elle Nichols led the way for Okemos as she captured medalist honors with a 77. Marie Lazar was fourth overall with an 82 while senior Sydney Williams shot an 87 to place ninth and senior Katy Hollis fired a 94.

Senior Marie Fata led the way for East Lansing with a 83 as she placed sixth overall and fellow senior Kristyn Crippen was right behind in seventh place as she carded an 84. Sophomore Molly Ring shot a 90 while sophomore Claire Fossum shot a 93.

Junior Shannon McNamara led the way for Mason with a 99 while sophomore Maddie Rydahl fired a 101 and senior Lexi Williams carded a 103.

Waverly was paced by junior Rachael Rienstra who shot a 90 to place in the top 20 individually. Junior Hanna Holmi shot a 98 for the Warriors.

Junior Rachel Hicks led the way for St. Johns as she shot a 106 while senior Leeann Kinsey shot a 111 for the Redwings.
