The Division 3 boy’s soccer district at Laingsburg next week promises to be a competitive struggle between a number of area teams.
Williamston and Durand both enter the tournament with plenty of momentum. Williamston has won its last two games in the CAAC Cup Silver Division as it defeated Jackson Northwest (3-1) and Fowlerville (3-0).
Durand is entering the game fresh off a solid regular season. The Railroaders have a 13-3-2 overall record and placed second in the GAC with a 9-2 mark.
Durand picked up its 13th win of the season when it defeated Perry 4-2. Robert Rix led Durand with two goals while CJ Levitt and Tyler Combs also scored for the Railroaders.
Perry is also competing in the Laingsburg district. The Ramblers turned in an 8-6 overall record. Andrew Warren scored a pair of goals in the loss to Durand.
Host Laingsburg enters the tournament with a 4-12-3 overall record. The Wolfpack recently picked up its fourth win when it defeated Dansville 3-2. Jordan Ransom, Josh Confer and Malachi Marshall each scored a goal for the Wolfpack.
Ovid-Elsie, Linden and Lake Fenton will also compete at the Laingsburg district.
