After opening the season with a tough road loss at East Kentwood, the Grand Ledge football team has regrouped to win four straight games and find themselves in the thick of another CAAC Blue title chase.
Grand Ledge gave up 40 points in the opening-night loss to Kentwood but since that game the Comet defense has battened down the hatches and has allowed an average of 10 points per game in their next five games.
Offense has been a strong point for the Comets the entire season as Grand Ledge is averaging 34.4 points per game and has scored 30 or more points in all five games this season.
The Comets are closing in on another playoff berth but close the season with three difficult games after facing Lansing Eastern this Friday. Grand Ledge closes out the regular season with games against unbeaten Everett, once-beaten East Lansing and rival Holt.
