The St. Johns Redwings upped their record to 2-0 for the season as they captured their second straight close victory of the season with a 19-15 win against Corunna.

After opening the season with a 21-20 win against Charlotte, the Redwings used a third-quarter comeback to earn the win against Corunna.

Corunna took an early 8-0 lead on a eight-yard touchdown run by Grant Renwick and a two-point conversion by Renwick.

St. Johns put points on the scoreboard in the second quarter with Brice Labar scored on a six-yard run.

Corunna came back later in the quarter as MJ Myles ran from six-yards out. Mikhail Myles added the extra point giving the Cavaliers a 15-6 lead.

St. Johns rallied and took the lead for good in the third quarter. Tim Havens scored from a yard out and late in the quarter labar hooked up with Shayne Krumm on a 12-yard scoring strike to provide the game-winning points.

Labar led the St. Johns offense with 78 yards rushing while Haven rushed for 74 yards.

Renwick paced Corunna with 90 passing yards and 88 rushing yards. MJ Myles also rushed for 61 yards.

Frank Ardelean led the Cavalier defense with 10 tackles. 

St. Johns returns to action Friday when its hosts 1-1 Fowlerville.

Corunna looks for its first win of the season Friday when its hosts Portland.
