Ithaca has now won 29 straight football games.
The Yellowjackets, who were 14-0 the last two seasons and Division 6 state champions, started 2012 at 1-0 with a 45-0 non-conference victory over Williamston in Thursday’s season opener.
Jacob Barnes had an 8-yard run for the game’s first score. Ater Bradley Martyn recovered a fumble, Travis Smith passed 51 yards to Zach Allen. Jordan Hessbrook’s 35-yard interception return made it 19-0.
Ithaca took advantage of five Williamston turnovers and held the Hornets to 113 yards of offense.
Smith had a 86-yard touchdown keeper in the second half. He passed 33 yards to Caden Kipp late in the half. Dakota Reeves had a 1-yard TD run to cap the scoring.
Smith threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 193 yards and a TD.
