The Morley Stanwood Mohawks gained 317 yards on the ground and 137 in the air and scored 14 points before Clare even had the ball en route to a 41-13 Division 6 district title victory at Clare on Friday.
Morley Stanwood takes a 10-1 record on the road next week to play the winner of today’s McBain and Iron Mountain game.
The Mohawks used a balanced rushing attack, led by Tyler Hanks with 101 yards, Steve Hopkins with 99 yards and Adam Wheeler with 76 yards, plus 137 passing yards from Travis Zajkowski who threw two touchdown passes.
Jackson Gross led Clare with 113 yards.
“I thought we did all right against him,” Huntey said. “We knew he’d get his yards. We wanted to try to contain him and not let him go on big runs and I thought we did that.”
