Defense ruled the game for Central Montcalm last Friday in its 30-0 season-opening victory last week over Lakeview.
“I was very pleased with our defense,” said Central Montcalm coach Marty James. “We gave up just over 100 yards of total offense. We didn’t turn the ball over and played pretty much mistake free. For the first game, that’s pretty good.”
Lucas Emmons gained 54 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown.
Thursday night, Central plays at Ferris State’s Top Taggart field against Big Rapids.
“They lost the first week (against Reed City) but did some very good things offensively,” James said. “They’re going to be big and physical. They like to pound the ball. We have to be able to match the physical play.”
