Lansing Catholic opened the high school football season on the road Friday with a 21-19 victory over Madison Heights Madison.
Coming off a 9-0 regular season in 2010, it was a rewarding way for Lansing Catholic to kick off a new season.
“They were a good football team,” said Lansing Catholic coach Jim Ahern. “They had a tremendous amount of speed.”
Going into week 2, his team has plenty to work on, Ahern indicated, while adding that he was happy with the performance of linemen Adam Zarotnay a sophomore, who started his first game, and Ryan Shannon, a junior.
