SAGINAW – The MIllington varsity volleyball team lost a conference match on Wednesday night to conference foe Nouvel Catholic Central by the score of 3-1. The Cardinals won the first set 26-24 before dropping three straight 25-13, 25-22, and 25-17.
Millington coaching staff: “It was a better night for the program (Millington lost on all three levels at Bullock Creek), but the varsity lost,” stated Coach Michelle Bouck. “There were a lot of long volleys. It was a hard fought match.”
Millington was led by Kate Cooper’s 15 assists, 12 digs, and eight kills. Hannah Bees had 16 digs and 11 kills.
Chloe Bremer added 12 digs, while Emily Martin added nine assists.
Millington (4-3, 2-2) will take the court again on Saturday, October 3, when they travel to Mt. Morris to compete in a tournament.
