ITHACA – Millington made the long trek west to the city of Ithaca on Wednesday evening and came away with a decisive 3-1 victory over the Yellowjackets in their Tri-Valley West opener.
The Cardinals won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-8 before dropping the third set 25-12. Millington squeaked the win in set four 25-23 for the match victory.
Hannah Bees led the Cardinals with 16 digs, nine aces and nine kills. Kate Cooper had 20 kills and 13 assists. Emily Martin had 18 assists and Chloe Bremer had 11 digs.
The Cardinals (3-0, 1-0) travel to Frankenmuth High School on Monday, September 21 for a non-conference match. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
