Bay City Western lost to Frankenmuth on senior night 71-37 – game was a lot closer than the score appears. within 10 points all the way through the end of the 3rd quarter and then I played my under clansman and got me seniors out for a standing ovation..
Mario Walker: We were competing almost the entire game and it got away from us towards the end of the 3rd quarter. We went in with a game plan but didn’t start to execute it until the 2nd quarter. In the first quarter, our players were not showing what they have showed me all year which was them being coachable but after the first quarter pow wow they got it together. We were down 20 to 7 at the end of the first quarter but then scored 20 points in the second and only holding Frankenmuth to 6 points in the second quarter. Going into half time we were down 20-26 but missed the front end of two 1 and 1 Free Throws before half. Which I count as 4 missed Free Throws. Hayden Shann a junior who really hasn’t played much all year came in early to help us out in the 2nd quarter. He was taking care of the ball, getting players open and putting points on the board. After half time we could not get our offense going like we did in the 2nd quarter. We only scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter. I have been talking to the boys about executing our offensive game plans and doing the little things on offense to help us put points on the board. All week our focus was not beating Alpena or Frankenmuth but looking at our first game of districts against Dow who beat us twice. I told the boys that these next two games (Alpena and Frankenmuth) don’t really mean anything or help us for districts. So everyone will get to play and get good minutes however, that may not be the case come Monday. So we have been preparing for Monday’s game and look forward to the 3rd match up. We have a great opportunity to make a great moment on Monday hopefully we are prepared as we want to be.
Aaron Norfleet – 17 points
