Frankenmuth 52, Alma 33
It was senior night at Frankenmuth, as the Eagles played their final home game of the regular season. Behind a solid starting effort from their five seniors, Frankenmuth got off to a quick start and built a double-digit lead at the half, 27-13. Each of the seniors – Kelynn Kujat, Brooklin Karwat, Sydney Merrihew, Danielle Rummel & Tara Keller – got into the scoring column and set the tone for the successful evening.
In addition, sophomore Zoey Persails continued her hot shooting, knocking down three triples en route to a game-high points, as the Eagles showed tremendous balance on the offensive end with freshman Lexi Boyke adding 9 points and Kujat finishing with 7. Karwat filled up the stat sheet with 4 points, 8 boards, 4 steals, and 3 blocked shots.
With the win, the Eagles finish the regular season at 15-5, including 10-4 in the TVC East. They travel to Clio next week for the Division 2 district tournament. Frankenmuth opens with the host Mustangs on Monday night at 7:00.
