Hemlock’s boys basketball team improved to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the TVC West on Friday with a 67-48 win over Millington.
Hemlock was up 26-21 after the first quarter and 43-20 at halftime. It was 57-41 after the third quarter. Mitch Hingston and Nolan Finkbeiner had 12 points apiece for Hemlock while Jayden Evans had 11 points and Max Dinninger nine points. Brady Devereaux and Michael Zolinski had seven points apiece. Finkbeinner had five assists.
Zac Yorke had 21 points while Justin Raleigh had nine points.
“We shot the ball so much better than we did in our previous two games,” Hemlock coach Matt Bauer said. “We made seven threes in the first half. Mitch Hingston got his first start of the season tonight and responded with 12 points and four threes including three in the first quarter.
“We really had good balance with seven players scoring six or more points. I thought we played with tremendous energy. I thought Millington shot it pretty well too, making seven three-pointers of their own.”
