Western vs Swan Valley @ Swan Valley
1/21/20 7:00pm

Western – 47
Swan Valley – 49

Western coach Demario Walker: This loss hurt more than any. Losing by 2 points up by 1 point with 2 seconds left in the 4th quarter is worse than losing by 20 or more. There is no emotion to describe the feeling after this game. We were down 18-3 after the first quarter and down 5 at half time 21-16. We were feeling the momentum going into half and came out with fire. We came out and scored the first 6 points and out scored them 18-13 in the 3rd but trailing by 3 points going into the 4th. Luke Gillis hit three 3 pointers in the 4th quarter giving us a lead by 5. Took a couple silly shots towards the end that we didn’t need and turned the ball over more than we should have. We didn’t lose the game by the last second shot at the end of the game, we lost this game in the first quarter. I have to give it to our guys though. Each game we trail at half and we don’t give up fighting. We make runs and take good possessions but can’t seem to pull it out. You can tell these boys want it! We competed 3/4 of the game which tells and shows we are headed in the right direction. We have no choice but to learn, keep improving, keep fighting and get after it in practice. By the time districts come around we will be ready.
