Bay City Western vs. Game against Freeland On Tuesday
Coach Demario Walker: First few minutes of the game we were playing Warrior basketball. We had an early lead with 5 points or so but then started going away from our defensive principles. We scouted the game perfectly but just couldn’t follow through. We got in foul trouble early which also played a huge part in our momentum.
Down 10 points going into half time and the first thing I tell the boys is that we’ve been here before. We mad a few adjustments and just like that we were tied in the 3rd quarter out scoring Freeland 20 to 12. We weren’t disciplined enough in the 4th which ultimately cost us the game losing 68-54.
These boys are getting it though. The second half we looked like another team showed up from the forth. You can see these boys are leaving everything on the court! They are gassed which tells me how hard they are working and want it! We will put this game behind us and prepare for our rival game on Thursday against Central at Central. The biggest thing, is that WE are all learning win or lose we take away something from each game. We are coming together!
