Montabella football coach Shaun Balhorn is looking for his team to improve from last year’s 3-6 record.
The Mustangs will miss some key players from last year.
Ethan Crawford DB “we will miss his enthusiasm and effort and experience in our secondary,” Balhorn said. “Caden Woolworth, we will miss his leadership on the offensive line.”
Two players will spark the Mustangs:
Matt Chaney Sr. OLB/RB- “is strong, quick and has a high motor,” Balhorn said. “Gavin Gatehouse (Sr. OLB/RB) is a strong, power runner and has great ball instincts.”
“We have high expectations this season. We should compete for the league title and playoffs,” Balhorn said. “We have great team speed and good experience on our defensive front. Younger players are catching up quickly and handling adversity.”
As for the MSAC, “Our conference is wide open this season. Breckenrridge, coming of their State finals appearance should be favorites,” Balhorn said.
