BIRCH RUN – Senior Cole Hill threw a complete game six-hitter in game two of a doubleheader getting the 6-2 win to salvage a split with previously unbeaten Birch Run. Millington lost game one by the score of 11-1. Hill stymied the Panthers only allowing two runs while striking out seven batters in his six innings of work. He also helped himself by collecting one hit in three at-bats and scoring one run.
Keagan Butterfield led the way offensively for Millington by collecting two hits and two RBIs from his cleanup position. He also scored one run.
Drew Germain, Kyle Paquette, Leyton Mays, and Mason Wolfington each had one hit in the victory.
Hill led the team offensively in the game one loss collecting one hit and two walks while scoring the lone run in the first inning. Jordan Rabideau had the Cardinals other hit.
Will Kirby suffered the loss throwing four and two-thirds of an inning before being relieved by Mays.
Millington (3-7-1) will return to action on Wednesday, May 1 as they host Garber (8-2). First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
