REESE – Drew Kihn came up in dramatic fashion for Millington on Monday night in Reese. The freshman came to the plate in the bottom of the sixth with two people on and one out. Down 0-2, Kihn drove a ball back up the middle to score Kyle Paquette and give Millington the walk-off win over Reese by the score of 5-4.
Sophomore Will Kirby led the team offensively going 3-3 with a double, scoring two runs, and driving in a run. Keagan Butterfield, Jordan Rabideau, Joe Novelli, Cole Hill, Kyle Paquette, Brody Germain, and Trevor Sherman all had hits for Millington.
Novelli picked up the win in relief of starter Kirby and Hill. Novelli threw two-thirds of an inning striking out one batter. Hill struck out six batters in his over three innings of work.
Reese won game one by the score of 10-3. Novelli suffered the loss in relief of Paquette.
Hill led the offense with two hits and scored one run. Drew Germain had a triple in two attempts with an RBI and scored two runs.
Novelli and Kirby each had one hit for the Cardinals.
Millington (2-6-1) will travel to Birch Run (7-0-1) on Wednesday, April 24, to take on the Panthers in a Tri-Valley East doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
