Ten of 12 Beal City Varsity Cross Country runners competing at the Alma College Scottie Classic Invitational on Friday posted season best times, with four of those being lifetime bests for multiple year runners. Rachal Weber’s season best 20:18.6 was good for 3rd in the Small School Division while Emma Gross placed 12th in 21:39.7. In the boys’ race, Alex Taylor (3rd, 16:31.3) and Derek Gross (9th, 17:41.6) posted lifetime bests to grab top-10 finishes. Levi Eisenbach was 13th in 18:02.5 while Nathan Reihl (31st, 18:59.3) had his best time of 2018 and Jacob Vollmar (42nd, 19:57.5) broke 20:00 for the first time. These five were the Aggie scorers as the team placed fourth. Brandon Gross (20:05.0), Konnor Wilson (20:05.6), Logan Mishler (20:08.9), and Nathan Coston (23:50.4) all ran season bests while Matt Clark lowered his lifetime mark to 20:10.2.
