Ashley coach kevin saylor: First homecoming win since the 2015/2016 season. Very proud of the way the boys fought the whole game through. Solid execution most of the night helped us cruise out to a 32-6 halftime lead and solid defense kept us in the lead. We have to shore up our kick return on special teams as we let up 2 TDs on those but we were able to get some key turnovers down the stretch to help us secure the win. With a great 1-2 punch of Brennen Felton and Jimmy Fabus, we were able to rack up the yards mainly in the middle of the field. Brennen opened up some gashing holes, helped by our line of Noah Drummond, Aaron Drummond, and Caleb Thomason. Behind them Jimmy Fabus was able to go for 145 yards on 21 carries and a TD while Kaynen Crumbaugh was able to add 30 more on just 2 carries and a TD. Our line also held up well on the pass allowing Keagan Welch to go 5/9 for 127 yards and a TD to Korvin Bradley. Our defense shined this night though, holding the cougars to just 8 points on offense. Led by Brennen Felton’s 12 tackles and Korvin Bradley ripping out and recovering 2 fumbles, we were able to end the game with 2 consecutive INTs from Kaynen Crumbaugh to dash the cougars hopes of stealing it back from our homecoming fans.
