MILLINGTON – For the 25th consecutive and last year together in a league, the Millington Cardinal football team defeated Bridgeport. The score of the game was 40-8.
The Cardinals’ were led by Jack Shreve’s three total touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns came on the ground to go along with his 109 yards rushing on 23 attempts. The third touchdown came on a blocked punt by Shreve that he returned 60 yards for the score.
Drew Germain rushed for 106 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown and a pair of two-point conversions. Remington Ray scored a touchdown to go along with his 41 yards rushing on 11 attempts.
Shreve and Trevor Sherman had five tackles apiece to pace the defense. Walker Sansote had four tackles and a sack. Trent Weber had three tackles to go along with his 73-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Millington (5-1, 4-0) will travel to Frankenmuth (5-1, 4-0) to take on the Eagles in the Tri-Valley East Championship game. The game is scheduled for Friday, October 5. Kickoff will take place at 7:30 p.m.
