The Brighton girls basketball team is battling to defend its title in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association West Division.

While the Bulldogs lost six players from last year’s team, they have regrouped around senior veterans Alex Forster and Jessica Savage. Forster is a returning point guard who has keyed the offense.

The Bulldogs have also received strong play from Kelsey Todd, who has had a number of strong offensive games.

Brighton’s biggest addition this season has been center Cori Crocker. A University of Michigan volleyball recruit who transferred from Grand Ledge, Crocker has been giving Brighton strong play in the post. A Miss Basketball candidate, she has had a number of double-digit scoring and rebound games this season. Crocker is also a shot-blocking presence on the defensive end of the floor for Brighton, which opened the season by winning seven of its first 10 games.
