The Owosso Boys’ Basketball File
Season Story: The Trojans return a pair of all-conference players, as they look to improve this season. Senior guard Jalen Weekley is a sharp-shooting guard who scored 28 points in Owosso’s first win of the season against Waverly. The Trojans also return senior all-conference forward Gavin Barnes.

The Corunna Wrestling File
Season Story: Expectations are high for the Corunna wrestling team this year. The Cavaliers return a number of key wrestlers, led by returning state champion Tristan Serbus. Other team members include Emilio Campos, Jarrett Trombley, Dylan Briggs, Jerry Yelinek, and Luke Cortez.

The Laingsburg Boys’ Basketball File
Season Story: Two years ago, Laingsburg reached the Class C state title game. This season, the Wolfpack is again rated as one of the top teams in Class C. Senior guard Ryan Wade is one of the premier players in the area, as is senior forward Cole Franks.

The New Lothrop Wrestling File
Season Story: New Lothrop captured the Division 4 state title last season and has plenty of talent returning. It kicked off the new season in a big way by crowning six champions enroute to winning the Herm Wilkerson Classic at Howell High School.

The Perry Girls’ Basketball File
Season Story: The Perry girls won 19 games last season in their final season in the GAC Red. This season, the Ramblers are part of the new Greater Lansing Athletic Conference, and with talented players like Lindsay Crim, Katie Figueras, Chasity Potter, and Victoria Bell returning, they have lofty goals.

The Durand Wrestling File
Season Story: The Durand wrestling team is primed for improvement this season. The Railroaders opened the season with wins over Byron (54-27) and Bentley (33-24). They were led by Walter Will, Hank Richter, Zack Atkins, Austin Yager, and Nate Johnson, who all won two matches.
