Football in Owosso will not be the same without Tom Harkema on the sidelines giving the program consistency day after day.
New coach Bryan Carpenter, however, has been around the program and has also coached at area schools like Durand and New Lothrop. An assistant at Owosso under Harkema, he has taken over the reigns of the program and is looking to guide the squad to a season of which Harkema would be proud this fall.
Owosso will be led by a solid corps of seniors. Linebacker Gavin Barnes (6’2″, 195 pounds) paces the defense along with fellow linebacker Chris Tobias (6’1″, 210).
On offense, Barnes and Dylan Brooks return at receiver. Senior Jalen Weekley is in the mix at quarterback, with Andrew Ager and his brother Austin at tailback and Alex Mackenzie at fullback. Senior Zach Roberts (6’1″, 270) leads the offensive line along with Tobias at center and fellow seniors Parker Thornton and Tyler Waterman.
