Mt. Pleasant captured the Division 2 state baseball title this season and the Oilers had a number of players earn post-season honors in the process.
Senior pitcher Aaron Leasher led the way as he was named first team, all-state in Division 2.
Mt. Pleasant baseball coach Luke Epple was also honored as he was named the Division 2 Ccoach of the Year.
A number of other local players also earned all-state honors. Portland senior pitcher Tanner Allison was selected first-team, all-state along with Haslett junior infielder Trace Woodworth, Lakewood senior infielder Alex Caudy, DeWitt senior first baseman Sam Smith, Midland Bullock Creek first baseman Drew Roth, Portland senior outfielder Austin Brandt, and DeWitt senior catcher John Michael Moody.
Bay City John Glenn has a pair of players earn second-team, all-state honors in senior pitcher Antonio Jacobs and junior outfielder Tyler Robbins-Bay. Mt. Pleasant sophomore pitcher Hunter Buczkowski also earned second-team honors as did Swan Valley senior infielder Ben Finzel and Portland senior Andrew Click was made the team as the utility player.
