The Saginaw Heritage boys bowling team finished with an 8-3 record in conference play with a 26-4 win on Saturday over previously unbeaten Carman Ainsworth at Candelite Lanes in Bridgeport. Heritage won the two Baker games 359-347.
Heritage own the Peterson games by a total of 2,058-1,914. Individual game leaders were Adam Clauss (247), Tyler Scott (227), Derrick Norman (226), Ben Kastros (203) and Morris Pruitt (201) for game 1 and Taylor (255), Norman (203), Brandon Southworth (177), Ray Eddy IV (166) and Clauss (153) for game 2.
“This was an exciting victory for our team,” said Heritage coach Scott Hare. “Carman Ainsworth as been nearly untouchable in our conference this year, so getting this win gives our team a lot of confidence going into regionals next Friday in Lansing. We have been bowling well as a team for the past three weeks, following a mid-season slump. We are finally getting some consistency throughout the lineup, rather than depending on a couple bowlers to carry the team each game. This can be seen in our first Peterson game today, where we shot 1,104 and all five bowlers over 200.”
