Tri County’s wrestling squad was second in the Joe Loren Memorial Invitational Saturday at Chippewa Hills with three first-place finishes. Two Tri County wrestlers took second. Shelby won the meet with 234 points. Tri County had 195.5.
Austin Sprik improved his record to 12-0 by taking first at 285 pounds. Nick Mcghan was first at 103 pounds and is 12-0. Jayson VanDyken improved to 9-2 after taking first place at 189 pounds. Dustin Prins took second place at 119 pounds and now is at 12-1. Jesse Britton was second at 139 and is 9-3. Lucas Prater was third at 145 to raise his mark to 6-5. Tucker Martin was fourth at 125 and is 7-5. Jarrod Tague was fourth at 160 and is 8-4. Justyn Veneklasen was fifth at 140 and is 9-4.
