DeWitt takes a 12-0 record to the Division 3 state semifinals this weekend against St. Clair following Friday’s home 49-0 victory over Eaton Rapids in the state regional finals.
DeWitt got off to a fabulous start. Quarterback Jacob Johnson connected with running back Christopher Ruby in the end zone for two passes in the first quarter and Ben Heinritz had a rushing touchdown. Johnson gained 134 yards and had three touchdowns for the game. Heinritz had a 22-yard TD run in the third quarter. Ruby caught passes for 91 yards. Johnson had 145 passing yards. Heinritz had 189 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
