Pewamo-Westphalia’s girls cross country squad celebrated a fourth-place finish Saturday at the Michigan International Speedway near Brooklyn in the Division 4 cross country girls state finals. Betsy Arens was 10th for P-W in 19:45.2, Brenna Wirth was 22nd for the Pirates in 20:36.0. Also for Pewamo-Westphalia, Leanna Schafer was 36th in 20:52.4, Audrey Pohl was 42nd in 20:59.1, Olivia Nurenberg was 50th in 21:12.3, Brooke Bengel was 76th in 21:50.6 and Myena Witgen was 108th in 23:04.5.
P-W, with 160 points, almost took third to Bear Lake which had 158. Beal City was first at 120 and Breckenridge second at 136.
