Mount Pleasant has drawn the top seed in Region 1, District 1 for Division 2 and will play Sparta this week in predistrict playoff action. The Oilers take an 8-1 record into the game against the 5-4 Spartans.
The winner will advance to the district finals Nov. 8 or 9 and will play either Ionia or Sault Ste. Marie with the right to advance to the regional finals Nov. 14 or 15.
Mount Pleasant also has the highest point total of any team in the regional’s other district. That means the Oilers can host the first three games if they keep winning.
