Holt finished the regular season at 5-4 and was waiting to see if the computer would spit out a point total that would put Holt in the playoffs. Teams that play nine games must win at least five to be playoff eligible.

Holt didn’t automatically quality for a playoff spot. But the state did not have enough automatic playoff qualifiers to cover the 256-team playoff lineup. Teams with high enough playoff ratings in each class were then selected to join the field. That included Holt which had 61.8889 points and plays in District 2 this week at Flint Carman-Ainsworth against an 8-1 opponent.

The winner of the predistrict will play in the District 2 finals against either Brighton or Grand Blanc.
