Five Questions With

Saginaw High’s Keyon Addison

Q: With coach Durrett coming back to the sidelines this season, describe the atmosphere around the first practice.

A: “It feels real good to be out here with coach D. Way more conditioning we have gone through than any other year I have been here at Saginaw High. I really feel honored to have coach Durrett coaching me.”

Q: Talk about the atmosphere around here with Coach D coming back.

A: “Everyone is really excited to see him on the sidelines again. We are hoping that we can play well for him and bring Saginaw High football back to the level it once was.”

Q: Are the kids buying into the new teachings of Coach Durrett and what he brings to the table?

A: “There is definitely no playing around him. What you see is what you get. People respect him, and he deserves respect. Practice is all about the preparation. It’s just a warm up of the game.”

Q: What was the biggest change that you saw during the first practice under coach Durrett, compared to the previous three seasons under other coaches?

A: “When we first got here, it was conditioning for like the first hour. He wants us to be in shape. Nothing can beat you if you are in shape. We really weren’t in real good team shape in the previous years, and we are really working on that a lot this season.”

Q: As a leader of this team, talk about getting everyone on the right path to win this season.

A: “Everyone wants to win this season just as much as me, so we need to come to work. Work hard and focus on getting better every time we hit that field.”
