Tori Jankoska has been as good as advertised during Freeland’s first two games of the season.

The Freeland senior scored 38 points in the Falcons 59-44 opening night victory over a very good Saginaw Valley Lutheran team Nov. 30.

Freeland took a 36-14 lead into halftime and crusied the rest of the way for the victory. 

Jankoska hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter and added two more in the second, while shooting 7 of 8 from the free-throw line to finish with a game-high 38 points.

Sophomore Taryn Taugher chipped in 10 points and Tara Padgett added eight for the Falcons.

The Chargers were led by Becca Scherting and Samantha Schafer who scored 21 and 14 points, respectively.

Against Chesaning Dec. 6, Freeland won in a rout 63-6 over the Indians. Jankoska kept up her steady play scoring 29 points, tallying 11 steals and dishing out eight assists. Padgett contributed 13 points in the win.

Freeland led 41-4 at the half. 

The Falcons are back in action Dec. 11 when they travel to Alma.
