Beal City boys basketball coach Cam Gatrell is hoping a strong regular season will transfer into an outstanding playoff campaign.
This marks Gatrell’s 28th season as a varsity boys basketball coach.
For the regular season, Beal City was 20-2 and tied McBain a 15-1 for first place in the Highland Conference.
“We have had good nights, and nights where we have not played well,” Gatrell said.
Cuyler Smith has been among the players leading the way for the Aggies this season. Smith averaged 14 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals during the regular season. Grady Gatrell has been another key player as he averaged 13.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Drake Gatrell has also been a major contributor as averaged 13.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Freshman Grady Gatrell and junior Cuyler Smith will be among the key returners for Beal City next season.
