The Frankenmuth Eagles defeated Lansing Catholic Central 35-14 on Sarturday to earn a trip to the Division 5 State Championship game against Grand Rapids Catholic Central.

The Eagles dominated the action with a outstanding rushing attack of 378 yards, led by Cole Lindow with 177 yards and Davin Reif with 136 yards. The defense put pressure on Lansing QB Alex Watters all day long, limiting the Cougars to a minis 13 yards rushing.

The Eagles sacked Watters 8 times during the game. The Eagles jumped out to a 14 – 0 first half led on TD runs by Lindow and Reif. The Cougars scored with no time remaining in the first half on a 76 yard TD pass to narrow the Eagle lead to 14 – 7. Konnor Roche scored late in the 3rd quarter to up the Eagle lead to 21 – 7 but Lansing scored with eight seconds remaining to narrow the lead to 21 – 14 entering the 4th quarter. Two 4th quarter scores by LIndow and Reif sealed the victory and the Eagles went into VICTORY FORMATION to end the game deep in Lansing territory.
